PhD Student, Portuguese
Presidential Scholar 2023
Teaching Assistant

I was born in São Paulo, Brazil, but have lived in Campinas from my first year of life until I came to UGA. I went to Unicamp, where I got my undergraduate major in Literature Studies, an MA in Literary Theory and History and started a Ph.D in Literary History and Theory right before I came here. During that time, I have also taught Portuguese Language Literature in Brazilian High School and have pursued a career in creative writing. My published books (all in Portuguese) are O Gelo dos Destróieres (2018), Habsburgo (2019), Ruído Branco (2020) and Abaixo da Bandeira (2023), the last one being a partnership with two other authors, Gabriel Morais Medeiros and Whisner Fraga. I have also translated the German poet Paul Boldt to Portuguese in the volumes "O Café Literário" (2022) and "Meu Coração em Fevereiro" (2023). I hope to develop research comparing Brazilian and Argentinian contemporary literature, especially regarding the fictional production of the period of late 20th century's redemocratization in both countries.
