Master's Student, French
Teaching Assistant of French

My name is Evan Blazowski, and I'm from Tampa, Florida!

I'm in my first year of the M.A French program after receiving my B.A in French Studies from UGA in May '25. During my undergrad at UGA, I studied French history and culture, with a particular interest in French as a medium for cultural and socio-economic exchange. I completed a senior thesis that examined and analyzed Eugène-Emmanuel Viollet-le-Duc's principles of French Gothic cathedral restoration and their lasting effect in the restoration of Gothic architecture across Francophone countries in Europe.

I currently study Italian & German as well as French, and I hope to encourage the same passion for languages and language acquisition in others!

Outside of my studies, I enjoy birdwatching, being outdoors, and playing the bass guitar. I'm also a member of Phi Delta Phi and Phi Beta Kappa honor societies and the Lily Branch Audubon Club on campus.

Research Interests:

French colonialism and its impact today, exploration of the masculine-vs-feminine cultural dimensions in Franco- and Italophone societies, French Gothic architecture & its preservation, Classical period impacts on the development of the French language, Franco-American relations, and Medieval French poetry.

Education:

B.A, French Studies & minor in Classical Culture, University of Georgia
